Introduction

Hello, my internet-savvy friends, family, and/or curious other people!  This is the blog that I will use to document/keep in touch with people during my trip to China. I may eventually upgrade it to "Cameron Goes to San Diego", but for now, it'll be focused on the China trip.

A bit of background, though many of you know this already: I am going, as a Mandarin student, on a six-week trip to Beijing, Zhengzhou, and Shanghai. I'll be studying Chinese 20 hours a week, and living with a host family in Shanghai for the majority of this time. The posts for this next week and a half or so will all focus on the pre-departure preparations and the three-day orientation in Washington, DC.
